Inner Orc is a watchOS app developed by Gunblade Industries (“we,” “us,” or “the developer”). This Privacy Policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and the choices available to you. We designed Inner Orc to keep your data on your device.
Summary
Inner Orc does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. The app has no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. All data the app uses stays on your Apple Watch (and paired devices through Apple’s own systems). We never see it.
Health & Fitness Data (HealthKit)
With your permission, Inner Orc reads the following data from Apple’s Health app (HealthKit) to drive its in-game mechanics:
- Step count
- Mindful session durations
- Activity summaries — your Move (active energy), Exercise, and Stand ring progress and goals
This access is read-only. Inner Orc never writes data to HealthKit and never modifies your health records.
How this data is used: Health and fitness data is used solely, and locally on your device, to power the game — for example, awarding in-game “energy” when you close an activity ring, granting a morale bonus for completed mindful sessions, and reflecting your activity in the app’s display. This processing happens entirely on-device and in real time.
How this data is handled:
- Health data is never transmitted off your device.
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing.
- Health data is never shared with, or sold to, any third party.
- Health data is never used for data-mining or any purpose other than your own use of the app’s features, consistent with Apple’s HealthKit requirements.
You can grant or revoke Inner Orc’s access to specific Health data types at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Inner Orc, or within the Health app. If you revoke access, the related in-game features will stop updating.
Data Stored on Your Device
Inner Orc saves your game progress — such as energy, morale, quest state, inventory, gear, and similar gameplay values — locally on your device using the system’s standard app storage (a shared app group). This data:
- Stays on your device,
- Is not synced to any server operated by us, and
- Is removed when you delete the app.
A small record derived from your mindful sessions may be retained on-device for up to 72 hours to avoid awarding the same in-game bonus twice; it is pruned automatically.
Notifications
Inner Orc may schedule local notifications (for example, to let you know a quest is complete). These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device. They are not push notifications and do not involve any server or the transmission of any data. You can manage notification permissions in Settings → Notifications.
Data We Do Not Collect
Inner Orc does not collect or process:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or contacts
- Your precise or coarse location
- Identifiers used for tracking or advertising
- Usage analytics, crash logs sent to us, or diagnostics
- Any account or login information (the app has no accounts)
Third Parties
Inner Orc does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only “third party” involved is Apple, through the standard operating-system frameworks (HealthKit, local notifications, and on-device storage). Your use of those features is also governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children’s Privacy
Inner Orc does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected or transmitted, the app does not build profiles of, or target, users of any age.
Your Choices and Control
- Health data: Grant or revoke access any time via the Health app or Settings.
- Notifications: Enable or disable in Settings.
- All app data: Deleting Inner Orc from your device permanently removes all data the app has stored.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected in an updated version of the app and/or this page.
